Some places hold memories more powerfully than photographs.
For generations of Stannites, the tennis courts have been a backdrop to so much more than sport. They have witnessed friendly rivalries, House competitions, laughter between lessons, nervous first matches, long summer evenings, and countless conversations shared while waiting for a game to begin.
The bloom returns each year, indifferent to the passing of time, yet somehow carrying with it echoes of those who came before. It is a reminder that while buildings evolve and pupils move on to new adventures, some of the smallest details remain wonderfully familiar.
Perhaps you remember the courts in the sunshine, the sound of rackets and applause drifting across the campus, or simply pausing beneath the flowers on your way to lessons.
We would love to hear your memories. Did you play tennis at school? Do you remember summer terms spent on the courts? Or perhaps the bloom itself has featured in photographs tucked away in family albums, celebrating those end of year class photos.
Sometimes it is the simplest corners of school life that leave the deepest impression, and this beautiful annual display is a gentle reminder that Windermere continues to hold a special place in the hearts of so many Stannites.
