A Stannite Celebration - one last Concert with Janet McCallum

On Friday 21 June, Windermere School will host a very special Stannite Concert in Crampton Hall to mark the retirement of one of our most cherished members of staff, Janet McCallum.

Janet began her remarkable journey at Windermere School in 1984, joining as a flute teacher. Her exceptional passion for music and education quickly became evident, and in 1999, she was appointed Head of Music—a role in which she has inspired generations of pupils through her enthusiasm, encouragement and deep-rooted love of music.

Over the past 40 years, Janet has been a constant presence in the lives of so many Stannites. Whether it was guiding pupils through their very first notes, conducting unforgettable concerts, or offering unwavering support during performances and exams, her influence has been profound.

To celebrate Janet’s retirement and the remarkable legacy she leaves behind, we are inviting Stannites past and present to come together for an evening of music and shared memories.

The concert will be followed by a drinks reception—a chance to reconnect, reminisce, and raise a glass to a truly extraordinary educator.
