Reflecting on my time at Elleray brings back such fond memories! As a 10-year-old boarder, an 11-year-old moving to Browhead (but still boarding at Elleray!), and later as a member of the Sixth Form living “up top” with the privilege of easy access to Windermere—it was a journey filled with growth, adventure, and connection.
When I returned to Elleray as a Form 2 teacher, life came full circle. I moved “up top” once more, this time with my children at one end of the long corridor and my bedroom at the other! For a year, we made Elleray our home, complete with our dog and cat—who even had their own cat flap installed in the fire escape door!
Elleray has always held a special place in my heart, not just as a place to live and work, but as a chapter in my life where memories were made and cherished.
