Celebrating the Women of Windermere

Although International Women’s Day has recently passed, it felt important to take a moment to recognise and celebrate the many inspiring women who have shaped the story of Windermere School.

With proud roots as a girls’ school, generations of pupils grew up here encouraged to be curious, courageous and ambitious. That spirit continues to define the school today, and it lives on through the remarkable people in our global Stannite community.

From leaders in business and education to artists, scientists, entrepreneurs and adventurers, Stannites continue to make their mark across the world. Their achievements are a powerful reflection of the confidence, resilience and curiosity nurtured during their time at Windermere.

As Head of Alumni and Community Relations, I have the privilege of hearing many of these stories and reconnecting with former pupils who are doing extraordinary things in their fields. Each story is a reminder of the strength and character that have long been part of the Windermere tradition.

We would love to hear about the inspiring women within our Stannite community. If you know a former pupil whose story should be celebrated, please do get in touch and share it with us.

Together, we continue to celebrate the legacy of the women who have been part of Windermere’s past, present and future.
