Couch to Scafell is a community walking programme designed to bring members of the Windermere School community together through a series of steady, inclusive walks. Each walk gradually builds confidence, fitness and enjoyment of the fells at a relaxed pace, with the long-term goal of reaching the summit of Scafell Pike together.
We would love to see as many Stannites as possible involved — whether you are a seasoned fell walker or simply fancy a gentle walk and the chance to reconnect with the school community.
Walk 2 – Helm Crag
📅 Thursday 19th March
📍 Helm Crag – please meet at the lay-by on the A591 at 9.00am
🥾 Distance: Approximately 5 miles
⏰ Time: 9.00am – 3.00pm
At the end of the walk, we will head into Grasmere for a well-earned coffee and cake, giving everyone the opportunity to relax, catch up and share stories from the walk.
If you would like to join us, please book your place using the link below:

Please ensure you bring suitable clothing, waterproofs, sturdy walking boots, food, and plenty of water for the day.

It would be wonderful to welcome some familiar Stannite faces as we continue the Couch to Scafell journey together.
